Vulvar and Vaginal Melanoma: Real-world Clinical Outcomes and Prognostic Differences From a Single-center Experience

Listen to this summary

This study investigates the clinical outcomes and prognostic differences between vulvar and vaginal melanoma, two rare and aggressive gynecologic malignancies, in the context of modern systemic therapies. By analyzing data from 39 patients treated at a single cancer center, the authors found that vulvar melanoma is associated with better progression-free and overall survival compared to vaginal melanoma, highlighting the need for individualized treatment strategies. The findings emphasize the unique challenges these cancers present in diagnosis and management, particularly regarding response to immunotherapy.
