Arthroscopic Posterior Labral Repair of the Shoulder in Active-Duty Military Patients Shows Improvements in Patient-Reported Outcomes and High Return to Sports and Military Duty at a Minimum 10 Years Follow-Up

The authors aimed to evaluate the long-term outcomes of arthroscopic posterior labral repair in active-duty military personnel, specifically focusing on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), clinically significant outcomes (CSOs), and rates of return to sport and military duty. Their findings indicate significant improvements in PROMs and high rates of return to military duty (92.3%) and sports (87.2%) at an average follow-up of 11.7 years post-surgery. Overall, the study demonstrates that this surgical intervention is effective for high-demand military patients in achieving both functional and recreational goals.
