Mediation analysis of adiposity and inflammation in the associations of Life's Crucial 9 and Life's Essential 8 with mortality among postmenopausal women
Listen to this summary
This study aimed to investigate the relationships between Life's Essential 8 (LE8) and Life's Crucial 9 (LC9) scores and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among postmenopausal women, while also assessing the mediating effects of adiposity and inflammation-related indicators. The findings revealed that higher scores in LE8 and LC9 were associated with lower mortality rates, with adiposity and inflammation accounting for a small proportion of these associations. Overall, the study highlights the importance of cardiovascular health in reducing mortality risk in this population.
