Oral deucrictibant for on-demand treatment of hereditary angioedema attacks: a phase 3, multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial
Listen to this summary
The authors aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral deucrictibant, a bradykinin B2 receptor antagonist, for on-demand treatment of hereditary angioedema attacks in a phase 3 clinical trial. The study found that deucrictibant significantly reduced the time to symptom relief compared to placebo, with a median onset of 1.28 hours versus more than 12 hours for placebo, and was generally well tolerated. These findings suggest that deucrictibant may fulfill a critical need for effective and convenient oral treatment options for this condition.
