Resistance training and depressive symptoms in subcortical vascular cognitive impairment: secondary results of a randomised clinical trial

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to determine the effects of progressive resistance training (PRT) on depressive symptoms in adults with subcortical vascular cognitive impairment (SVCI). Their findings indicate that after 12 months of PRT, participants exhibited significantly lower depressive symptoms compared to those in a balance and tone control group, suggesting that PRT may be an effective intervention for reducing depression in this population.
