The authors aimed to evaluate the outcomes of selective neurectomy (SN) in patients with synkinesis after a minimum of one year of follow-up, using various assessment methods including patient-reported outcomes, clinician-graded assessments, and objective evaluations. The study found significant improvements in overall patient-reported and clinician-graded scores post-surgery, although periocular outcomes were notably suboptimal, indicating that while SN can enhance facial function, certain areas may still require further attention.
