Recommended Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Applications for US Family Medicine Residency Training: A National Delphi Study From the STFM POCUS Task Force

The authors aimed to identify which point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications should be included in family medicine residency training curricula, addressing the lack of evidence-based guidelines in this area. Through a three-round Delphi study involving 25 expert panelists, they reached consensus on 54 POCUS applications that should be prioritized for teaching, while excluding 41 applications and 162 others that did not achieve consensus. The findings provide a structured framework for residency programs to enhance the competency of graduating residents in essential POCUS skills.
