A comparison of the modified Duckett versus conventional Duckett procedure for severe hypospadias: a retrospective single-centre cohort study

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to compare the operative outcomes of the modified Duckett (M-Duckett) procedure versus the conventional Duckett procedure for severe hypospadias in pediatric patients. Their study found that the M-Duckett procedure resulted in a significantly lower incidence of postoperative urethral stricture and a higher proportion of patients exhibiting a bell-shaped urinary flow curve, without increasing the risk of other complications or negatively affecting penile appearance.
