The Impactful Weight of Treating Beyond the Scale: A Comprehensive Course to Improve Obesity Care Among Medical Students

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a comprehensive educational intervention on medical students' knowledge, confidence, and attitudes towards obesity care, including awareness of weight bias and stigma. The study found that after participating in a five-session course, students reported significant improvements in their satisfaction, knowledge, comfort, and confidence regarding obesity-related issues. These results suggest that enhanced obesity education can better prepare future physicians to address this complex chronic disease.
