The Use of Levosimendan in Infants With Heart Disease: A Scoping Review
Listen to this summary
This scoping review aims to assess the current literature on the safety and efficacy of levosimendan in infants with heart disease. The findings indicate that while levosimendan may improve certain cardiac parameters, such as lactate levels and left ventricular function, the overall cardiac outcomes are inconsistent, and further large-scale studies are necessary to establish its effectiveness in this vulnerable population.
